Region Zealand – E-learning about the structure of the Danish healthcare system
The challenge: Encountering a different healthcare system
When foreign specialists are recruited to the Danish healthcare system, they often face challenges.
Not because of their professional abilities – but because the Danish healthcare system and the Danish work culture are different than in their home countries.
Region Zealand contacted us because they wanted to make it easier for foreign specialists to understand and navigate the Danish healthcare system.
The challenge was particularly about explaining Danish culture with its flat hierarchies, informal tone of communication and collaborative approach, which many foreign doctors were not used to.
At the same time, the learning material should also address the more personal challenges that doctors and their families face when they move to Denmark.
The solution: Clear communication and technological innovation
We chose a solution that combined clear communication, personal expert knowledge and modern technology. Henrik Ancher Sørensen, Staff Physician in Region Zealand, was a central figure in the project. Through an interview, he explained complex topics in a simple, understandable and engaging way.
When it became clear that the learning material would work better if it were also available in English, we faced a budget problem.
We solved the challenge using AI technology from Elevenlabs, which allowed us to clone Henrik’s voice and generate a natural, English-language version of the material. It was both cost-effective and impressively authentic.
The result: A flexible and engaging learning material
The result was flexible learning material that combined live action films with Henrik Ancher, animation videos from Vyond, and interactive elements that gave users the opportunity to explore the structure of the healthcare system for themselves.
The material was developed in Articulate Storyline and delivered as both SCORM and web packages, so it could be easily integrated into the region's existing learning systems.
We are proud of the result because we developed a solution that makes a real difference in the everyday lives of the foreign specialists recruited to Region Zealand.
