What information do we collect, and why?

When you sign up for our newsletter

We store your name (optional) and your email address. Sign-up uses double confirmation (double opt-in), so we know it was you who signed up. We use the information to send you newsletters and relevant content about e-learning. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of every email from us.

When you fill in the contact form

We receive your name, your email address, your phone number if you give it, and your message. We use the information only to answer your enquiry.

When you join a waiting list

If you sign up for a course or a waiting list, we store your name and your email address so we can let you know when there is news.

Statistics and cookies

We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to see which pages are visited and how the content is used, so we can make the site better. We do not sell data and do not use third-party advertising cookies. The tool sets no cookies, and we do not store your IP address. Your visit is given a pseudonym that is created afresh every 24 hours. That makes it pseudonymised information, not anonymous. We look at the figures themselves in aggregate.

Who do we share data with?

We do not share your data with third parties for marketing. We use the following data processors to run the site and communicate with you:

  • Mailjet (France): sending newsletters and emails. ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant.
  • Cloudflare : hosting of the site, plus security and fast delivery (CDN).
  • web-tracking.eu : visitor statistics without cookies. The information is pseudonymised: it cannot be traced back to you without the key, but it separates your visit from other people’s on the same day. Data is hosted in the EU.
  • Google (USA): we pass our own visitor statistics on to our Google Analytics account, so we can see what our ads lead to. It is the same pseudonymised information: which page was viewed, how long it was read, and the address you arrived at, including the click ID Google itself adds if you come from one of our ads.

Deletion of data

We only keep your information for as long as there is a purpose to it. Newsletter sign-up data is kept until you unsubscribe. Enquiries via the contact form are deleted on an ongoing basis once they have been answered and are no longer relevant.

Your rights

You have the right to see the information we hold about you, to have incorrect information corrected, and to have your data deleted. You can always unsubscribe from the newsletter via the link in the email, or write to data@elearningspecialist.com.
